A U.S. F-35 stealth fighter aircraft was hit byIranand compelled to perform an emergency landing at a U.S. airbase on Thursday, marking the first instance in which an American aircraft has been targeted by the military of the Islamic regime since the conflict commenced.

Fewer than an hour following the aircraft being struck,Donald Trumpinformed journalists that Iran’s air defense systems had been destroyed, stating: ‘No one is even firing at us.’

A spokesperson for the US Central Command, Captain Tim Hawkins, stated that the aircraft was in the air over Iran when it had to perform an emergency landing.

“The plane landed without issues, and the pilot is in good health,” Hawkins stated, mentioning that an inquiry has been initiated. It remained uncertain whether the pilot was hurt.

The assault on the $100 million advanced fighter jet occurs during a critical phase of the conflict as Trump himself diverged fromIsraellast night, attacks on an Iranian gas field ignited the Gulf, leading to retaliatory strikes against America’s Arab allies.

Iran’s sustained attack persisted on Thursday with drones targeting a significant oil refinery in Haifa, Israel, leading to further financial market instability.

US crude increased by 4.9 percent, while Brent crude – the global standard – rose to as much as $118 per barrel, an increase of more than60 percent from the beginning of the conflict.

On the 19th day of the conflict, Iran carried out several attacks on key Gulf oil refineries and shut down a Saudi oil port located on the Red Sea.

The administration of Trump still asserts that the conflict is a major victory.

Pete Hegseth mentioned during a press briefing at the Pentagon earlier that Ian’s aerial defenses had been entirely ‘destroyed’ by American-Israeli attacks.

General Dan Caine, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated that U.S. forces are still conducting attacks further into Iranian territory, with fighter jets searching for Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and helicopters targeting Iranian drones.

Caine mentioned that the U.S. military has also deployed 5,000-pound bombs against subterranean weapon storage sites.

However, when the duo spoke to reporters at the Pentagon, footage on television displays revealed smoke rising from oil and gas facilities throughout the area, causing fear on Wall Street.

A ship was set on fire near the United Arab Emirates coastline and another was harmed near Qatar, while an Iranian drone hit a Saudi refinery on the Red Sea, a location the nation had intended to utilize as a different access point.

Following the most recent Iranian attack, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen acknowledged that the power network in northern Israel suffered some damage. He mentioned that teams have restored electricity to certain regions and are continuing efforts to bring power back to other areas.

Hegseth informed journalists that the U.S. military ‘determines the destiny’ of Iran.

He stated, ‘Iran possesses the capability to make the correct decisions,’ and emphasized that ‘Tehran should not, in the future, focus on Arab allies or Arab nations, attempting to cause suffering, the kind of pain they have inflicted upon themselves.’

The administration of Trump has mentioned several military goals, such as weakening Iran’s missile systems and its nuclear activities. Eliminating high-ranking officials has also been a key focus for the United States and Israel.

Hegseth proposed that additional leaders might be considered as targets, specifically mentioning the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij force, a significant internal security organization whose leader was killed by Israel earlier this week.

“The most unwanted position in the world right now, senior leadership in the IRGC or Basij, temporary roles, all of them,” Hegseth stated.

Among the Iranian energy sites targeted in recent days was the Bushehr nuclear power plant complex. The International Atomic Energy Agency stated there were no injuries and the facility sustained no damage.

On Thursday, Israel announced that it had attacked Iranian facilities in the Caspian Sea for the first time. An Israeli military spokesperson, Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, stated that the attacks targeted numerous locations, including vessels, a shipbuilding facility, and a command post.

The Pentagon is requesting $200 billion in extra funding for the conflict with Iran, according to a high-ranking government official.

The department submitted the request to the White House, as reported by the official, who requested anonymity to talk about confidential details.

Israel struck one of Iran’s key gas fields in the South Pars on Wednesday.

Approximately 80 percent of the total electricity produced in Iran is derived from natural gas, as reported by the International Energy Agency, making the attack a direct risk to the nation’s power supply. Additionally, natural gas serves as a primary source for home heating and cooking throughout the Islamic Republic.

The New York-based Soufan Center stated in a research note that Israel’s targeting in this conflict has primarily concentrated on institutions, leaders, and infrastructure. ‘It now aims to increase pressure on the regime by rendering civilian living conditions unbearable.’

Iran criticized the attack on South Pars, with President Masoud Pezeshkian cautioning about ‘unmanageable outcomes’ that ‘might spread across the globe.’

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday evening, Trump alleged that Israel “reacted with anger” and stated that the US “had no knowledge of the attack” that led to the bombing of Arab energy facilities.

Previously, Trump has urged Israel to avoid attacking Iran’s energy facilities, as worries about rising oil prices increase ahead of his important midterm elections in November.

The Arab allies of America were angry about Israel’s strike and the United States’ inability to stop it.

Trump stated that Israel would not target South Pars again. However, he cautioned on social media that if Iran kept attacking Qatar’s energy facilities, the US would respond and ‘completely destroy’ the entire site.

“I am not willing to approve this extent of violence and damage due to the lasting effects it will have on Iran’s future,” Trump stated on social media.

Over 1,300 individuals in Iran have lost their lives throughout the conflict. Israeli attacks on the Iranian-supported Hezbollah militant organization in Lebanon have caused over 1 million people to flee their homes—approximately 20% of the population—according to the Lebanese government, which reports that more than 1,000 people have died. Israel claims it has eliminated over 500 Hezbollah fighters.

In Israel, 15 individuals have lost their lives due to Iranian missile attacks. Additionally, four people were killed in the occupied West Bank during the night as a result of an Iranian missile strike, according to officials.

At least 13 American military personnel have lost their lives.

Iran reported the execution of three men who were arrested during the nationwide protests in January, marking the first known such sentences to be carried out, according to the judiciary’s Mizan news agency.
