Iranian authorities reportedly disputed President Donald Trump’s assertion that he had productive discussions with the government to extend his 48-hour deadline for attacking power stations.

CNBC reportedthat an Iranian representative shared a contrasting account on state television.
“There has been no negotiation and there will be no negotiation. With this kind of psychological warfare, neither the Strait of Hormuz will return to its previous state nor will there be peace in the energy markets,” the official stated.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) saidthat Trump had delayed a “potential war crime.”
This is not a message directed at Iran. It’s a frantic message to the financial markets,” he noted. “No further conflict until the markets close on Friday.
