A friendly conversation with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) turned tense on Monday morning when MS NOW host Joe Scarborough showed growing frustration with the Senate Minority Leader — and snapped at him saying “you don’t understand me.”

Schumer, who has been the focus of reports that some Democrats believe he shouldmove away from his role as a leader, was questioned about Donald Trump’s choice to reduce some of the strikes against Iran. This prompted the “Morning Joe” co-host to give a lecture to his guest on thethe public’s view of the unexpected conflict.

First of all, is it beneficial that we are deterioratingIran’s military infrastructure“?” the New York Democrat was questioned, which caused Schumer to concentrate on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz andthe expensive price of fuel.

Stop, wait a second,” the MS NOW host objected. “You need to answer my question first. Isn’t it a positive development that Iran, which I believe you would agree is the center of terrorism globally since 1979, is having its military capabilities reduced to this extent? Yes or no?

“You can’t, as it’s an early question. What will occur in the coming months?” Schumer responded.

Scarborough interrupted him, saying, “No, no, I can ask that question. You handle the military aspect. You handle the political side. I’m simply asking from the military perspective, is it good? Regardless of whether we agree with entering or not, is it good that Iran’s military infrastructure has been seriously —.”

Once more, I must say, Joe, first of all, you can’t,” the politician interjected. “What’s going to occur three months from now? Is it worth it? What will happen? Will the global economy crash? Will something even worse take place? Will the entire world’s energy system be destroyed?

Let me respond to the question for all Americans,” the frustrated Scarborough countered, raising his hands toward the entire quiet panel. “The answer is ‘yes,’ it’s good that that terrorist regime’s military and capabilities have been significantly weakened. However, the real issue is political. It’s the political question. What is the political effect? What’s the impact on the streets? What’s the influence in the region?

“Respectfully, if you ask the American people whether they have a choice between undermining the military, the military structure in Iran, but having gasoline at $6 per gallon, and our economy sliding into a deep recession with millions losing their jobs,” Schumer argued.

Senator, you’re not paying attention to me,” the MS NOW host retorted. “That’s the political aspect.
