Speaking during an appearance on AdomTV, the media figure, considering the events that led to the accident, pointed out that the two young men,particularly the pilot, demonstrated great selflessness.

He referenced testimonies from witnesses detailing howCaptain Frank Donkor, upon realizing there was an issue with the plane, started indicating for people to step back.

From his perspective, the pilot’s action to prevent the plane from crashing near students should not be ignored.

“An eyewitness mentioned that the pilot was attempting to get them to depart, and one aspect that struck me is that the pilot made sure the plane wouldn’t crash in an area where children from school were. That’s one reason I believe they deserve a state funeral,” he stated.

Even when their lives were in danger at that moment, he considered many others before himself. I believe that whatever signal the individual has demonstrated, it reflects love and sacrifice for the country, as these are some of our future leaders in school.

Ghanaians were in deep sorrow on Monday, March 16, 2026, following the crash of a fixed-wing microlight aircraft at Oninku Park in Tema Community 1, which resulted in the deaths of the pilot and a passenger.

A statement from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority revealed that the small aircraft, en route from Ho to Accra, had last communicated via radio nearly an hour prior to the crash.
