Morocco is expected to face somewhat unstable weather in the near future as a low-pressure area located over theMediterranean Basin, which will impact various areas to some extent before slowly losing strength, theGeneral Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco said.

Houcine Youabed, the communication director at the agency, stated that upper-atmosphere data suggest the system will primarily affect northeastern regions, resulting in a decrease in temperatures, especially in mountainous areas and the eastern highlands.

He mentioned that a high-pressure system is anticipated to persist, leading to more stable weather.

The weather is expected to stay somewhat unpredictable over the next few days, with the eastern and southern areas probably experiencing fluctuating cloud patterns that may lead to isolated rain showers, occasionally combined with thunderstorms.

Other regions of the country are anticipated to stay relatively steady due to the effect of high pressure.

Moderate to strong winds are expected in various areas, especially along the coastline and in the southern and southeastern regions, which could lead to localized sandstorms, particularly in desert zones and nearby regions.

A clear difference between day and night temperatures is also anticipated. Mornings and evenings will stay fairly chilly, especially in mountainous and inland regions, whereas daytime temperatures will slowly increase, particularly in southern and desert areas.

On Monday, isolated rain is anticipated in the eastern area, along with potential snowfall in the higher elevations of the east.

Cold to fairly cold conditions will continue through the night in theAtlas Mountains, their eastern slopes, theRif Mountains, and the eastern highlands.

High winds are also predicted in areas such asTangierthe Saïss plains, northern and central plains, the east, the southeast, and the southern regions, with potential sandstorms in the southern and southeastern areas.

Daytime temperatures are expected to vary between 4 and 11 degrees Celsius in the High and Middle Atlas regions, 8 to 16 degrees in the Rif and eastern highlands, and 28 to 34 degrees in the desert areas. Along the southern and central coasts as well as the inland plains, temperatures will be between 22 and 28 degrees, while other areas will experience temperatures ranging from 16 to 22 degrees.

On Tuesday, the southern region will experience partial cloud cover, whereas mountainous areas will continue to face chilly temperatures during the early hours and late at night.

Moderate winds are predicted along the northern shorelines, while stronger breezes are anticipated in the southern areas and certain eastern zones, along with ongoing dangers of sand movement in desert regions.

Nighttime temperatures are projected to decrease to as low as -6 degrees in mountainous and eastern areas, whereas they will range from 14 to 20 degrees in the southern and Souss regions. A widespread increase in daytime temperatures is anticipated across the country.

By Wednesday, unpredictable clouds could lead to isolated thunderstorms in the southernmost areas, while the Middle Atlas and eastern regions might experience intermittent cloudiness.

Winds are expected to stay moderate to fairly strong in the southern regions, mountainous areas, central coastal zones, and the southeast, along with ongoing chances of sandstorms.

Expected temperature increases are forecasted in the eastern, southeastern, and desert interior regions, whereas a slight decline is anticipated along the southern coastlines.

Starting on Thursday, the weather in mountainous regions and the far south is predicted to be partially cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience fluctuating conditions.

Strong to moderate winds will continue in southern areas, while daytime temperatures are projected to increase throughout most regions.

Weather experts state that these changes are connected to air movements above the Mediterranean and the flow of northern air, leading to cycles of temperature drops and rises, as well as regional rain and strong winds.
