Footage of NASA’s manned lunar mission Artemis II launch, captured from an aircraft, is gaining popularity on social media.
In recent times, footage of the launch recorded by air travelers through their airplane windows has been consistently shared on platforms such as TikTok. The videos clearly show the rocket rising through the clouds, leaving a lengthy plume of smoke behind. Certain clips have generated responses like “a completely different view compared to watching it from the ground.”
Significantly, in videos captured at an altitude of around 10,000 meters, the rocket’s path is observed extending far across the horizon, with certain assessments noting it looks sharper than standard television footage. Indeed, some online users remarked, “It’s more noticeable than the official broadcast.”
In one of the videos, a pilot stated, “I have been praying to see such a moment for 15 years of flying,” and continued, “This is a tale I will share with my grandchildren for many generations.”
This mission marks the first time humans will travel to the Moon in 54 years, following Apollo 17 in 1972. The Orion vehicle, with four crew members aboard, will undertake a journey of approximately 10 days to circle the Moon.
