Don Lemonsaid that he received the ‘N-word treatment’when he was detained for participating in anti-ICE demonstrationsas they attacked a church inMinnesota. 

The former CNNthe host discussed the legal issues he encounteredThe View, and criticized the manner in which he had been handled by federal agents.

“As my friend, who is also a lawyer, mentioned, ‘They gave you the N-word treatment,’” Lemon stated.

He mentioned that he thought he was treated so harshly because “they want to embarrass you. They want to humiliate you.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin, who is also a lawyer, disclosed that she had been supporting Lemon and supported the way he was treated.

“Indeed, that’s accurate,” she stated.

After the video of Lemon interviewing protesters and churchgoers went viral, he decided to hire a lawyer to challenge the previously dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy Todd Blanche.

My lawyer sent them an email and stated, ‘Hey, if you’re genuine, let’s handle this properly. He’ll surrender himself,’ which they refer to as self-reporting.

Lemon stated that the Department of Justice did not reply, but rather sent ’12, 15, perhaps 20′ federal agents to detain him.

He also accused Donald Trump of personally targeting him for speaking out against the president on television.

I mean, the president has been mentioning me non-stop. He used to call me the dumbest man on TV and tweet about me.

Lemon then mentioned Trump’s national speech from Wednesday evening, stating: ‘I think the least intelligent person on television’presented himself last nightThat was the proof.

The former CNN commentator has been creating his own platform since 2023, following his dismissal from the network due to controversial remarks about women in their 40s being past their peak.

Since that time, Lemon has faced legal issues following his arrest forparticipating in the anti-ICE protest at a Minnesota church in January, where the pastor is affiliated with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 

Lemon was set free without bond after his initial court appearance in Los Angeles following his arrest.

The continuous legal matter has emerged as a central issue in discussions regarding the First Amendment.

At a charity event, Lemon upheld the First Amendment, stating: “I’m here because this is truly significant, and I stand by freedom of expression. I support the First Amendment, freedom of the press, and all related principles.”

I believe it’s crucial for all of you to back that, and particularly to support, in today’s world, independent reporting within the media.

The protest focused on Pastor David Easterwood, with protesters stating they were not opposing his religion, but rather the claim that he also serves as a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.

Lemon has justified his presence and mentioned that he was there solely to report on the protest as a journalist.

Georgia Fort, a freelance journalist, faced federal charges as well, but she has mentioned that she was present at the demonstration to cover it.

Yesterday, Lemon stated that he fully believes he wouldbecome an exceptional presidential contender and surpass Trump’s performance.

Lemon, 60, stated he has no desire to run for president, but he believes he could manage the country significantly better than Donald Trump, as he mentioned on Pod Save America.

I believe I could become the president of the United States,” he stated. “I am aware that people will consider me insane. This will likely be the main headline, and people will mock it.

Lemon referred to himself as an Independent, but mentioned he would probably campaign under the Democrat label in the hypothetical election.

“Listen, why can’t I consider running for office? Why can’t I imagine becoming president of the United States when you see what we have,” he asked.

The former CNN correspondent stated that no one thought former President Barack Obama would win the White House in 2008.

“Has anyone ever considered that he would become president, that he had such a desire?” Lemon stated. In contrast to Lemon, Obama had a prosperous career as a U.S. senator prior to reaching the highest position of power in the world.

The reporter also believed he would be an excellent choice to revitalize a news outlet, as he has previously been involved within it.

I’m occupied, I’m creating my own channel, and I’m establishing my own network, and we’ll find out where that leads, but if they placed me in a news organization, I could improve it. I could make the place better.
