Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, called on political groups to put aside their disagreements and collaborate in response to growing tensions in the Middle East.

At the commemoration of the passing of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bilawal characterized the area as experiencing a ‘war-like condition’ and criticized what he termed an unlawful conflict directed at Iran, mentioning the reported demise of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He pointed out the effects of the Middle East conflict on Pakistan, stating that both the federal and Sindh governments are working to offer aid using their current resources. Bilawal mentioned that increasing inflation has greatly impacted regular people and suggested specific subsidies for those with lower incomes. He referred to the Benazir Income Support Programme as an essential means to support disadvantaged groups during times of financial difficulty.

Bilawal also highlighted programs initiated by the Sindh government, such as financial support for farmers and motorcycle owners, as part of measures to reduce economic pressures. He emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear program, which began during Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s leadership, has provided national security and prevented outside aggression.

Highlighting Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s leadership and diplomatic insight, Bilawal remembered the significant OIC summit held in Lahore and emphasized the need for solidarity among Muslim countries. He commended the President and provincial officials for their involvement in top-level discussions and urged ongoing collaboration to tackle national issues.

Ending his speech, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that Pakistan’s only path to overcoming financial challenges and attaining stability lies in national unity and political cohesion.
