Skins Actor Mike Bailey has surprised fans with a rare visit, appearing completely transformed years after leaving the spotlight for a normal 9-to-5 job.

The actor, who is 37 years old, gained a devoted following for his portrayal of the socially awkward Sid Jenkins in thehit E4 series Skinsbut in a recent interview he looked almost unrecognizable.

Replacing Sid’s iconic disheveled hair and large glasses with a bleached blonde hairstyle and a more refined appearance, Bailey’s new look caused an immediate frenzy among fans on the internet.

Taking to RedditViewers found it hard to believe their eyes. “I HAVEN’T SEEN HIM IN FOREVER OMG,” one person wrote, while another comment said: “I really can’t spot Sid there at all, wild.”

Another confessed: “I didn’t have any idea who he was.”

Another person believed everything depended on the hair, writing: “Whoa, the short, light hair makes a huge difference. I never would have recognized this as Sid! He looks like he’s been doing really well.”

Bailey became well-known as a member of the original Skins cast, appearing with upcoming Hollywood stars such as Nicholas Hoult andDaniel Kaluuya.

Although several of his fellow actors went on to attain worldwide fame, Bailey gradually withdrew from the public eye.

During his recent visit to the NSNpodcast, he considered his career and disclosed a choice he made early on: ‘I think I decided between [series] one and two to finish college and not really audition or anything and get an agent,’ he said.

I didn’t have an agent until the second season, and that’s when everything really slowed down.

He remarked, “My career didn’t end completely, but it was as if it did.”

Following Skins, Bailey took part in a few minor projects such as the documentary drama 1066: The Battle for Middle Earth and the movie We Are the Freaks, but eventually went down a different route, becoming a drama teacher.

In another part of the interview, he also remarked: “Acting is absurd, isn’t it? I mean, when you really consider it?”

His path is distinct when compared to several of his previous co-stars.

Nicholas Hoult, who portrayed Tony Stonem, went on to appear in major films such as X-Men, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Favourite, and The Menu, and is now scheduled to play the role of Lex Luthor in the upcomingSuperman film.

Meanwhile, Daniel Kaluuyahas emerged as a recipient of an Academy Award, boasting a highly regarded career that includes work in both cinema and television.

Dev Patel has also transitioned into a highly successful career as an actor and director.

Although Bailey may have stepped away from acting, the response to his infrequent return shows that fans remain just as fond of the coming-of-age series as before, even though he now appears completely different from the Sid Jenkins they once knew.
