A former US Navy SEAL has disrupted a live television discussion regardingDonald Trump and the war in Iranto demand the release of Australia’s most honored warrior, who was detained on suspicion ofwar crimes.
Ben Roberts-Smith, 47, is set to appear in court on Wednesday following charges of two war-related offenses.crimeof homicide and three instances of assisting or facilitating the same charge.
The highest possible punishment for the accusations is a life sentence.
A Victoria Cross winner, who spent the night in jail, is charged with killing unarmed people while serving inAfghanistanfrom 2009 to 2012, and also failing to prevent members of his group from murdering three individuals.
Roberts-Smith was arrested by Australian Federal Police officers atSydneyDomestic Airport upon arriving from a flightBrisbaneon Tuesday morning, in the presence of his two teenage daughters.
A former US Navy SEAL and now business owner, Mike Sarraille, was a guest on Sunrise Wednesday morning to talk about President Trump’s warning that ‘a whole civilisation will die’ as the deadline approaches for preventing conflict from intensifying in Iran.
However, as co-host Nat Barr concluded the interview, the Texas-based Mr. Sarraille was not yet done, delivering a direct statement to Australian officials.
“Free Ben-Roberts-Smith!” he said to a surprised Barr, as co-host Matt Shirvington shifted the conversation by swiftly moving to the next segment.


Mr. Sarraille is among numerous prominent individuals who have expressed their backing for Roberts-Smith following his arrest.
Other individuals include the owner of X, billionaire Elon Musk, Australian mining tycoon Gina Rinehart, former prime minister Tony Abbott, and leader of One Nation, Pauline Hanson.
President Trump has now decided to put the strike on Iran on hold for two weeks.
Earlier in his Sunrise interview, Mr Sarraille cautioned that the conflict in Iran is expected to lead to the death of civilian individuals.
“That’s the sad aspect of conflict – that unintended harm occurs during such attacks,” he stated.
It’s not a matter of black or white. After serving for 20 years, we function in gray areas. And regrettably, civilians often find themselves caught in the crossfire.
