One Born Every Minute is coming back toChannel 4seven years following its cancellation.
The reality-based television series focused on maternity units and aired for eleven seasons from 2010 to 2018.
Currently, a new set of viewers will have the opportunity to experience the personal and heartfelt journey of childbirth through 12 fresh episodes, which are scheduled to be shot later this year and will subsequently broadcast on E4.
Production had previously taken placePrincess AnneHospital in Southampton before relocating to The Women’s Hospital in Edgbaston for the final two series.
In 2019, the program was put on hold as audience numbers dropped to only 600,000, down from five million at its debut.
But the show will now focus on documenting changing family relationships, developments in prenatal care, and the actual difficulties experienced byNHS staff in 2026.

Once more, the show will be captured with stationary cameras to document the unfiltered and spontaneous experiences of expecting families along with the healthcare professionals assisting them.
Maintaining its original structure, One Born Every Minute will document the labor and delivery processes in maternity wards during this transformative time.
Vivienne Molokwu, Senior Commissioning Editor for Reality & Entertainment and Commissioning Lead for E4 stated: ‘Almost a decade later, we are still honored to continue exploring the experience that parents go through when they welcome their newborns into the world.’
We are aware that the emotional journey this time brings will strongly connect with the E4 audience, and we are excited for our viewers to witness how the digital era has transformed how families deal with this life phase.
Will Rowson, Co-Creative Director at the show producers Dragonfly TV, remarked: ‘There is a lot of affection for One Born Every Minute.’
Over the years, during its absence, pregnancy and maternity care have evolved significantly, creating an exciting opportunity to re envision the show.
The program, centered around the operations of maternity wards, has already received a BAFTA for best factual series.
In addition to more than 91 episodes of the UK version, the documentary series gave rise to an American and a French adaptation of the program.
