A new group inside theAfrican Democratic Congress(ADC) has emerged, separating itself from the coalition headed by David Mark and the faction linked to Nafiu Bala.

The group, headed by Don Norman Obinna, asserts that it stands for the authentic National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party and mentioned that it is stepping in to handle party matters before the upcoming national convention.

During a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, Obinna’s group challenged the validity of the previous leadership, pointing out that Ralph Nwosu’s term concluded in August 2022 and referencing several legal cases due to his refusal to leave office.

The group also explained Nafiu Bala’s role, stating that he never served as National Vice Chairman in the party.

It also confirmed that former ADC presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, continues to be a member of the party.

The group revealed that it has selected temporary leaders to manage party operations, maintaining stability until the national convention takes place.
