Sri Lanka, April 10 – A 19-year-old died after an event occurred at a hotel on Moragahahena Road in the Homagama Police Division overnight, with five individuals taken into custody related to the incident.
The Homagama Police stated that they first received reports about an unexpected death at the scene. However, subsequent investigations suggest that the case is now being considered a homicide caused by an attack allegedly committed by a group of people.
The deceased has been recognized as a 19-year-old individual from the Nikadalpotha neighborhood in Wellawa.
The police stated that the event is thought to have taken place last night when a disagreement turned serious during a gathering at the hotel, which was attended by a group of students from a private university in Homagama.
A comprehensive investigation is set to take place. Homagama Police are carrying out additional inquiries regarding the incident.
