The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has referred to the Image Maker Award 2026, presented to him by Vanguard Media Limited, the publishers of the Vanguard newspaper, as a symbol of his commitment to fostering trust and the larger communication network that aids the Federal Government’s reform initiatives.
As per a statement released by Rabiu Ibrahim, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris, who was presented with the award during a grand event held on Friday at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, mentioned that this honor arrives at a crucial moment for Nigeria, characterized by significant reforms and a dedication to reshaping the country for long-term development.
This recognition highlights the effort we make to establish trust with each Nigerian. Effective communication lies at the core of governance, and it should promote confidence, solidarity, and optimism,” stated Idris, who further mentioned, “Communication should not only provide information but also create trust.
He also emphasized the significance of openness and consistent interaction with the public and the press, pointing out that encouraging honest communication has been essential in closing the divide between administration and public opinion.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of prompt and precise information in national security issues, emphasizing continuous cooperation with security agencies and media partners to ensure public tranquility and enhance trust in government initiatives.
He also acknowledged the essential contributions of the media, his fellow government officials, and the Ministry’s hardworking personnel in enhancing Nigeria’s communication system.
He praised Vanguard Media Limited for its dedication to quality and for honoring national service.
