An ICE officer who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in January has been secretly permitted to resume duty under certain conditions, according to a report.

Jonathan Ross, 43, is now carrying out administrative and investigative tasks just a few months after he killed Good, 37, on January 7 in Minneapolis,PunchUp reported.

The incident soon gained significant attention, with one group claiming that Good was deliberately trying to hit Ross, while the other argued that she was merely trying to get her away.

Ross was put on administrative leave for only three days before being transferred out of state, as stated in the report.

DHS representatives informed the media that Ross’ transfer occurred because inquiries into the incident involving Good had come to a standstill.

The Justice Department previously stated that ICE’s internal affairs division was carrying out an additional investigation in conjunction with theFBI probe.

However, unnamed high-ranking officials stated that Ross’ accountability procedure had essentially been put on hold since the internal investigation was stalled until the FBI completed its own inquiry, according to the report.

A senior ICE official shared with the source that the FBI needed to “either do it or stop talking about it.”

They clarified that the uncertainty regarding Ross had kept ICE from making any public statements about the killing or trying to restore public trust.

Senior officials from the Department of Homeland Security informed the source that the White House instructed the halt of Minnesota state investigators’ access to federal evidence, along with the crime site.

The report stated that a senior official remarked that the inquiry into Good’s death “makes us appear foolish.”

Currently, Ross has not encountered any additional consequences regarding the shooting of the mother of three and is still serving on active duty.

The Homeland Security Department stated that the fatal shooting is still “under investigation.”

“All incidents involving gunfire are first examined by the relevant law enforcement body,” a Department of Homeland Security representative stated.Daily Beast.

“After the incident was examined by the relevant investigative body, ICE and CBP carry out their own assessment of the significant event,” the agency stated.

Agents from the FBI initiated a civil rights inquiry regarding Ross following Good’s passing, as reported in theWashington Post.

A preliminary assessment concluded that there was enough reason to initiate an investigation into his conduct, although it appears it was never followed through. Nevertheless, the FBI disputed the report and labeled the allegations as untrue.

“The choices mentioned here were not determined by the FBI,” the organization stated on January 19.X.

“The FBI remains engaged in seeking evidence for this case alongside our federal collaborators, examining the shooting incident as well as the persistent violent criminals and their financial backers,” the statement added.

The facts are the starting point, and the facts do not back up a civil rights inquiry.

The Homeland Security Department had previously stated that Ross experienced internal bleeding in his upper body after the incident with Good.

Seventeen days following Good’s passing, federal agents killed nurse Alex Pretti, 37, as part of the same focused immigration enforcement initiative.

DHS representatives stated that Pretti approached law enforcement with a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, although video footage from the incident seemed to depict Pretti holding his phone instead of a weapon.

Videos indicated that an officer removed Pretti’s gun from his belt and walked off with it just before he was shot.

The violence led to widespread demonstrations throughout the United States and resulted in DHS Secretary Kristi Noem resigning from her role, later being succeeded by Markwayne Mullin.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a member of the Democratic Party, responded to the news about Ross’ transfer by writing a letter, dated Wednesday, to border official Tom Homan.

Hochul stated she was looking for assurance that Ross had not been transferred to New York state.

“If Jonathan Ross has been transferred to work in New York, I insist that he be immediately removed and not reassigned unless he is cleared following a complete, independent investigation,” Hochul stated in her letter, which was released byPolitico.

I don’t believe Ross can be trusted to handle interactions with the public safely,” she continued. “You shouldn’t either.

“If ICE is genuinely focused on targeting the most dangerous individuals, it should begin by holding accountable those responsible for Renee Good’s death,” Hochul stated.
