A fire occurred on the 2nd at a multi-family residence in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, resulting in a woman in her 50s being taken to a hospital in cardiac arrest.

As per the Seoul Gangseo Fire Station, the fire department was sent to the scene approximately at 7:18 a.m. following a report that “smoke was coming from a tenant’s room.”

The fire led to a woman in her 50s, who lived at the scene, being discovered in cardiac arrest. She was taken to the hospital while undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Ten occupants, including nearby residents, left the area by themselves and were not injured.

Emergency services deployed 78 staff members and 21 pieces of equipment, completely putting out the fire about 20 minutes after the alert was received, around 7:38 a.m.

The fire department mentioned they are looking into the specific reason for the fire and the extent of the damage to properties.
