May 23, 2026 (KHARTOUM) – Leaders of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reported to have facilitated the smuggling of commander Ali Rizqallah’s wife and children, referred to as “Savana,” from Saudi Arabia to Nyala in South Darfur through Ethiopia, according to family sources who spoke on Saturday.
On May 15, Savana reached the capital, Khartoum, a few days after announcing his departure from the RSF. He stated his plan to join the Sudanese army in fighting in Kordofan and Darfur.
Shaqra, the daughter of Savana, shared a video on social media featuring a woman in a niqab, whom she introduced as her mother. Shaqra mentioned that they had departed the city of Jeddah for the Ugandan capital, Kampala, and also renounced her father, asking the RSF commander to safeguard her family.
