LAGOS – On the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day observance, the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Ahmed Ododo, warmly wishes all children throughout Kogi State, emphasizing that they are the genuine treasure of tomorrow.

As stated by the First Lady, children represent the greatest gift to humanity and the most important investment in shaping a better tomorrow.

She pointed out that Children’s Day is not just a day for festivities, but also an opportunity to consider the shared duty of families, governments, schools, religious organizations, and the broader community to support, safeguard, educate, and direct children in becoming accountable and accomplished adults. She highlighted that each child is entitled to affection, access to good education, adequate medical care, protection against mistreatment, and fair chances to cultivate their abilities and realize their divine potential.

The First Lady conveyed her delight at the outstanding abilities, imagination, strength, and skills shown by children throughout Kogi State, promising that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration is firmly dedicated to initiatives and strategies aimed at enhancing their well-being and ensuring a brighter tomorrow for them.

She also praised educators, parents, guardians, and child supporters for their efforts and consistent commitment in nurturing a generation that is ethically sound and well-informed.

The First Lady of Kogi State inspired them to maintain discipline, concentration, respect, and perseverance in their quest for education and outstanding achievement. She called on them to avoid harmful influences, adopt diligence and honesty, and keep faith in their aspirations, reminding them that they have the potential to become future leaders, creators, professionals, and contributors to the nation’s development.
