The Justice Department’s campaign against President Donald Trump’s opponents left a former Fox News anchorGretchen Carlsonclearly distressed while discussing it on CNN.
“What on earth is the Justice Department up to?” Carlson said, referring to the DOJ’s latestcriminal investigation against E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of sexual misconduct. “What are they truly accomplishing for the people of the United States of America?”

Carlson spoke about her legal action from a decade ago against Fox News, alleging sexual harassment, and noted that the matter became deeply personal for her.
This holds great personal significance for me, given that the President of the United States is targeting someone who showed bravery by coming forward,” Carlson stated. “In my view, every American should be extremely angry as a nation.

Carlson expressed frustration that the DOJ is “spending time on cases that, as per legal experts, lack validity,” and claimed the charges against Carroll and other opponents of Trump are “all part of a mission driven by one individual, the president of the United States, who is on a campaign for revenge.”
Carroll has won two defamation cases against Trump following his accusations that she lied and his rejection of her claims. The Department of Justice has also targeted the former FBI director.James Comey, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and anti-ICE protesters.
She stated, “There are numerous other cases” for the DOJ to examine, and felt that other Americans should be questioning, “What are we doing? What are our tax dollars funding with this Department of Justice?”
