Pakistan, June 21 — US Vice President JD Vance conveyed confidence in the current discussions with Iran in Switzerland and mentioned he is hopeful further advancements will be made in the next few hours. He commended Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and emphasized its role in fostering a setting that facilitated talks between the involved parties.

Joining forces with leaders from Pakistan and Qatar, Vance praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their contributions to promoting peace. He highlighted Pakistan’s involvement throughout the nearly four-month conflict as positive and noted that its mediation efforts have been acknowledged by the global community.

Vance mentioned that he stayed in regular communication with Field Marshal Munir during the crisis and recognized his contribution to regional stability. He also stated that Pakistan’s leadership played a part in keeping diplomatic efforts moving forward and urged all parties to focus on discussions rather than increasing tensions.

Talking about the discussions with Iran, the US vice president mentioned that the technical-level talks offer a historic chance for both parties to communicate directly. He emphasized that although not every difference may be settled right away, the conversations lay the groundwork for future comprehension and tangible collaboration.

Furthermore, Vance reiterated Washington’s dedication to peace in the Middle East and conveyed optimism that Iran would contribute positively to regional stability. He also mentioned continuing worries in Lebanon, where initiatives are ongoing to maintain a delicate ceasefire and ease tensions.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif referred to the discussions as a significant chance for world peace and acknowledged the role of diplomatic leadership in enabling the talks. At the same time, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani commended the efforts of Pakistan’s leadership, highlighting the need for ongoing collaboration to enhance peace and stability in the area.
