• Girl, 17, reportedly taken from outside the university
  • A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody by special forces police

A 15-year-old male was taken into custody by specialized police forces following his alleged kidnapping of a 17-year-old female near her high school in southeast Melbourne.

The young woman was entering the Banksia Campus of Keysborough Secondary College in Springvale South around 8:30 am on Friday when a boy approached her.

“A police statement said the man is accused of forcing the girl into a car that then left the area,”.

A 15-year-old boy from Wyndham was taken into custody around midday by officers from the Special Operations Group in Tarneit, which is roughly an hour’s drive from the school.

He has now faced charges of kidnapping and is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.

The young woman was transported to the hospital in a stable state. Authorities think the two are familiar with one another.

A representative from the Victorian Department of Education informed the Daily Mail that they are providing support to the girl’s family.

“The Education Department has knowledge of an event that took place outside Keysborough Secondary College on Friday morning,” a statement mentioned.

Support services for well-being were offered to the family and any other individuals in the school community who needed them.

All subsequent inquiries were addressed to Victoria Police.

Anyone who saw the event, has video evidence, or possesses any details is encouraged to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
