Former England captain John Terryhas selected France as his preferred team to emerge victorious in theWorld Cupbut acknowledges he has been ‘very impressed’ by Argentina.

Didier Deschamps’ team secured first place in Group I with strong victories againstSenegal, Iraq and Norway and will now face Sweden in the round of 32.

England, on the other hand, also secured first place in Group L.a 2-0 victory against Panama on Saturday evening and Thomas TuchelTheir side is expected to face either the Democratic Republic of Congo or Senegal in the elimination stage.

When asked to identify his preferred team to win the World Cup this summer, Terry stated on Piers Morgan Uncensored: ‘I’m still convinced that France is the strongest team I’ve witnessed, particularly in terms of their offensive capabilities and the danger they represent.’

‘I still think EnglandHave a very strong possibility. I am aware I faced some criticism for choosing France and England as my two teams.

I must admit, I’ve been very impressed by Argentina.

Stop thinking about Messi, stop thinking about the goals he’s scoring. When it comes to their pressing style, watch what happens when Argentina loses the ball. They immediately counter-press and regain possession high up the field. I believe this is out of fear, because they know they don’t have 11 players who will track back. Messi is that one person. They win the ball high, pass it to him, and he can create some magic.

I must admit I’ve been very impressed by them [Argentina], but France remain my favorites.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan stated: ‘I still believe that if you defeat France, you will win the World Cup.’

I sense that, even though there’s an air of gloom surrounding the England team, with a bit of fortune, England might still win the World Cup.

I’m going to stand firmly by my beliefs, I won’t invest any money in it, but I will state that England will come out victorious.
