June 27, 2026 (EL OBEID) – The Humanitarian Aid Commission of Sudan alleged on Saturday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked an aid vehicle heading to El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state, resulting in the death of one driver and injuries to others.

The commission mentioned in a statement that RSF targeted a humanitarian truck near the town of El Rahad on Friday night. The vehicle was transporting 50 tons of flour meant to ease hardship in El Obeid, but the delivery was almost ruined.

The RSF has recently increased attacks on fuel stations in El Obeid, as well as on humanitarian convoys and commercial vehicles along the main national highway linking North Kordofan with White Nile state, with the goal of causing a fuel shortage and significant scarcity of goods.

The Sudanese relief organization criticized the event as part of a persistent effort to target humanitarian convoys, intending to prevent assistance from arriving at those who require it.

The committee highlighted that the attack constitutes a clear breach of international humanitarian law, denying millions of qualified civilians vital aid that is assured through global agreements.

The declaration urged the United Nations and the global community to denounce the event and ensure the RSF is held responsible for obstructing aid efforts.

The RSF has been striving for dominance over El Obeid, the biggest city in the Kordofan region, by deploying its troops near the southern, northern, and western edges, even though there have been numerous alerts from local and global officials regarding an attack on this crucial center.
