The events focused on the estate of Apostle DrKwadwo Safo Kantanka, the esteemed industrialist and founder of the Kristo Asafo Church, who died on September 11, 2025. His passing triggered a intense battle between Akofena, who had been acting as CEO of the Kantanka Group of Companies, and his older sister, former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Adwoa Safo, over who would take control of the empire.

Kwadwo Safo and Adwoa Safo have a conflict

The path to Monday’s approval was far from easy. The conflict between the parties escalated to a critical point on June 21, when Adwoa Safo went to Akofena’s residence in Dome Kwabenya, where a ceremony was taking place to appoint him as the new head of the Kristo Asafo Church.

As per a statement from a family representative,Adwoa Safowas injured while trying to enter the building, resulting in her being hospitalized with severe wounds. Akofena and some of his bodyguards were later taken into custody and released on bail before the court hearing.

The interpretation of the will seems to have resolved the main issue regarding who Apostle Safo aimed to guide his legacy, as the paper identifies Akofena as his successor.
