Real Madrid might disrupt the strategies of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea by acquiring Adam Wharton for their returning manager Jose Mourinho, according to a report.
Real MadridThey have already bolstered their defense by signing Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Marc Cucurella, and Mourinho has pinpointed the central midfield as the next crucial position to reinforce if Los Blancos are to secure more Champions League and LaLiga trophies.
Bernardo Silva has already joined the Bernabeu without a transfer fee from Manchester City, although Real Madrid still require additional midfield additions as Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni are both possible to depart.
Camavinga and Whartonare two speculated choices on Liverpool’s midfield list, and Spanish sourceDefensa Centralhas put forward a new statement regarding the latter.
They state that Palace have ‘made a move’ to ‘offer’ Wharton to Madrid for a ‘stunning’ €120m (£102.5m).
Real Madrid are reportedly still considering whether to proceed with their interest in the English player, as they estimate his value at approximately €70m (£60m). Therefore, any offer Madrid submit for Wharton is expected to be significantly lower than Palace’s ambitious €120m target.

The report states that Wharton is being considered by Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, who have all been ‘keeping an eye on him for months.’ Meanwhile, Man Utd and Tottenham Hotspur may soon ‘add themselves to that list’ of interested parties.
Nevertheless, it would be quite unexpected if Tottenham pursued the 22-year-old, considering they have already invested a total of £185m on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.
Liverpool and United both admire Wharton, but there are contradictory accounts regarding whether he isactuallya clear objective for the two English powerhouses.
Football Insider reported on Saturday that Andoni Iraola has halted Liverpool’s interest in Wharton. Consequently, Palace are reportedly becoming more assured about retaining him.
Liverpool and Man Utd unlikely to pursue Wharton
Earlier this summer, United concluded that Wharton bears too close a resemblance to Kobbie Mainoo, leading them to focus on alternative prospects like Alex Scott, Tchouameni, Andrey Santos, and Felix Nmecha.
In Madrid, Wharton is among various central midfield candidates being evaluated. Mourinho is urging club president Florentino Perez to execute a major transfer for Chelsea’s star player Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentinian has been transparent about his wish to relocate to the Spanish capital, although the fee will be a massive £120m (€140m).
Alexis Mac Allister and Rodri are also under the watch of the Spanish giants. Rodri, however, will be simpler to attract next summer, when his City deal ends.
