Thousands of individuals came to Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Wednesday to capture images of an eight-meter model of the FIFA World Cup trophy positioned in the center of the square.
Videos capture the replica, alongside Lego figures of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Vinicius Jr., along with individuals moving through Rockefeller Plaza.
“That’s the biggest Lego sculpture I’ve ever encountered for the World Cup, and it’s not as unattractive as the original World Cup monument or trophy, whatever it’s called,” remarked a local.
A guest mentioned she appreciated the concept as it united the city’s residents, while another expressed that the replica would be cherished by children.
“I’m not a child, but I really like this one, and if I enjoy it, the kids will absolutely love it,” he stated.
As reported by local media, the replica took eight months to construct at the Lego Group’s model production site in Kladno, Czech Republic, with a team of 59 individuals, including designers, engineers, model builders, and assembly specialists.
It has been reported that over 1.3 million Lego pieces were utilized to construct the model.
