The kitchen play set linked to the suffocation death of a three-year-old girl has been shown by authorities, who are urgently advising parents that the toy is still available for purchase online.

The Medical Examiner of Palm Beach Countymentioned the Daily Mail on Tuesdaythat the child’s method of death was classified as an ‘accident’ resulting from ‘likely positional suffocation.’

Now, the Boynton Beach Police have released a picture of the playset that was part of the unusual accident, which they mentioned was bought throughFacebook Marketplace. 

“The kitchen play set that was involved in the three-year-old’s death lacks any visible labels or details specifying its brand, manufacturer, or model,” the department said to the Mail on Wednesday.

The compact kitchen features a small two-door cabinet with a fake stove surface and faucets next to a sink hole. The wooden setup is adorned with images of flowers, cooking utensils, wooden logs, and rooster-themed kitchen tiles.

Briella got trapped in the playset on the morning of July 23 at her babysitter’s house, following a time when she was left in the living room with her older preschool-aged brother, Brock.

The Boynton Beach Police stated that the children were under the supervision of a caregiver, who left them in her partner’s responsibility before departing.

“Throughout this period, the partner stayed upstairs while the kids played below, occasionally checking on them and providing snacks,” the department stated.

The partner came to check on the children and found the three-year-old with their head trapped in a kitchen play structure.

“The partner took the child away and promptly started administering emergency procedures until the first aid personnel arrived,” they added.

The child’s brother suggested that the toys had slipped into the kitchen play structure while they were trying to get them and got trapped.

Police arrived at the residence shortly after 11 a.m., after a caller reported that the child was “unresponsive and not breathing.”

“Upon arriving, officers found the toddler and immediately started life-saving actions,” police stated.

The Boynton Beach Fire Department also reached the location and transported the child to a nearby hospital in severe condition.

Unfortunately, Briella passed away four days later on July 27.

Law enforcement is looking into the child’s passing. No legal actions have been taken regarding this event.

Suzi Holmes, 42, Briella’s heartbroken mother, mentioned that she and her husband Jason were too devastated to discuss the passing of their youngest child.

“We are heartbroken and can’t speak right now. We’re just focusing on getting through each day,” she said to the Daily Mail on Tuesday.

Suzi and Jason Holmes described Briella as “pure joy in a small, determined, self-reliant package” in a statement published by the Daily Mail.

“She enjoyed singing, about everything and nothing, and if you spent just a few minutes with her, you could tell immediately,” they mentioned.

The parents mentioned that Briella was “kind from the start” of her brief life and “the type of child who brightened a room without trying.”

She cherished her older brother, Brock, with all her heart,” they said. “Briella, you were, and will forever be, one of the little miracles in our lives.

The family has also initiated afundraiserto pay for Briella’s funeral and memorial costs.

“Thank you for your affection, encouragement, and kindness as we celebrate Briella’s life and treasure the moments she shared with us,” they wrote on the page.

Kathy Wall, the head of Safe Kids Palm Beach County, issued a caution to parents and guardians following the incident.

“Our children are our most valuable resources, they represent our future, and we must be there for them every day,” she stated.
