US intelligence representatives disclosed that they were ‘doubtful’ about claims of an Iranian danger that resulted inDonald Trumpto secretly change aircraft while returning from last month’sNATO summit. 

The leader was secretly transferred from Air Force One to a smaller C-32A plane using a food delivery truck following reports from intelligence agencies regarding a potential attack.

Nevertheless, experts found the intelligence unconvincing and shared their concerns with officials from the Trump administration, according to one person who is aware of the intelligence.

A separate source described the reported threats against the president’s life as ‘Israeli-derived’ rather than US-generated and said they were considered ‘low-confidence’ intelligence. 

The disclosure that certain US officials questioned the danger introduces a fresh dimension to theWhite HouseHis choice to hide Trump’s location as he departed the NATO summit in Ankara on July 8.

It followed reports from The Post earlier this week indicating that Trump had been anticipated to depart Turkey on the new Boeing 747-8, which was given to the US by Qatar.

However, worries arose that the new aircraft did not have the same security measures and communication features as the standard Air Force One, leading the president to opt for the older plane instead.

In a rare and covert action, Trump subsequently left the traditional Air Force One without public awareness and was transported in an airport food service truck to a different plane – an Air Force C-32A that took him along with several important advisors to the United Kingdom.

The complex trick deceived everyone on the old Air Force One, leaving unaware reporters and some high-ranking White House staff completely unaware as they traveled on the ‘fake’ Air Force One.

“As the President has mentioned, he has encountered many threats to his life, including those from Iran, and all possible steps are being taken to guarantee his security,” a U.S. official stated in a message to The Post.

The representative, similar to the other sources mentioned in the publication’s article, requested to remain unidentified.

“The primary responsibility of the United States Secret Service is safeguarding the President, which they have successfully accomplished,” the source mentioned. 

However, certain US officials think this was not a standalone event.

They indicated that Israel shared the warning, not just to safeguard Trump, but also to sway his political choices.

Authorities indicated that these initiatives might eventually influence the US’s strategy toward Iran, Turkey, and other nations in the Middle East.

Although Israel perceives Iran as its most pressing threat, it also views Turkey as a medium- to long-term risk, and is becoming more concerned about the rising alignment between Washington and Ankara, as stated by the current official.

That connection has been enhanced by Trump’s personal chemistry with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

A former official stated to The Post that the warning “aligns with a larger trend” of Israeli intelligence reports, which some US officials think are intended to influence presidential decisions as much as to provide information.

Although informed about the Israeli threat intelligence and the Secret Service’s detailed deception strategy, Rubio still entered the traditional Air Force One, which the source indicated was likely to have been an Iranian target.

A different U.S. official involved in security discussions cast doubt on the actual severity of the threat, highlighting the large number of Turkish security forces stationed during last month’s NATO summit.

Meanwhile, Democrats have urged the administration to offer further information regarding the unusual deception mission.

“I am deeply interested in how much the intelligence provided by Israel was not just reliable but also capable of being confirmed through independent means,” said Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Maryland) to The Post.

“I am certain that Iran would prefer the president to leave, but this whole situation seems somewhat unrealistic,” he added.

The leader first traveled to the summit in Turkey on a newly gifted Qatari 747-8 jet before stating he would return through the UK using an older Air Force One aircraft “for old times’ sake.”

On Tuesday, Trump stated that he agreed to the change after being asked by the Secret Service.

“I simply do what they want me to,” he said when questioned about the storyline as he was returning from the 2026 Patriot Games inOhioThey asked me to take a different flight, a different aircraft, with the same level of safety, so I complied. I followed their instructions.

He also downplayed the importance of the intelligence that led to the secret flight.

“I suppose there was a danger somewhere. I didn’t really inquire much about it. I receive numerous threats,” Trump added.

The president also mentioned that he believed the C-32A he was on posed a greater risk than the Air Force One aircraft that departed with unaware journalists and White House personnel as a diversion.

“I believe the plane I was on was actually in more danger! I think it was at higher risk because that would be the plane, I believe they would be more likely to target it,” he said.

Meanwhile, following the strange change, Trump addressed reporters for approximately 15 minutes emphasizing the danger that Iran presents.

When questioned about why journalists were instructed to dim their plane windows in Turkey, Trump claimed it was “because you’re likely on a risky flight due to the corrupt individuals we have to handle.”

He further mentioned that he faces a constant ‘threat’ to his life and that he is ‘number one’ on Iran’s ‘list.’
