A magical snowy scene after an extended period. On the 11th, the pine forest at Doripo Beach in Muan County, South Jeolla Province, was covered in snow that fell during the night. A breathtaking snowy landscape emerged, as though white blankets had been spread over the branches of the seaside pine trees. Visitors who happened to be in the area appeared to be transported back to their childhood, running around and capturing the day’s good fortune with joy in their eyes.

Because of the impact of climate change, several regions have experienced minimal or no snowfall this winter. When it does snow, it tends to melt rapidly. The Korea Meteorological Administration said, “It will become more challenging to witness snow in various parts of the country moving forward.” A cold snap is anticipated to start on the 20th, which marks Daehan (Greater Cold), with significant snow expected in the western coastal areas. May the snowscapes arrive without causing any harm. /Text·Photo=Kim Young-geun
