A high-ranking official from the Department of Homeland Security is said to have informed American conservative commentator Benny Johnson that U.S. immigration authorities conducted more than 27,000 deportations within a single week, with about 3,600 expulsions daily.

Johnson, who shared the allegations on X on August 19, stated that the official provided the data directly to him and that the statistics indicated the United States was heading toward approximately 1.4 million deportations throughout the calendar year.

The post also mentioned that approximately 69,000 people are currently detained in DHS facilities, pending deportation.

A DHS source outlines ‘stealth tactics’

As per Johnson, the DHS official explained the magnitude of enforcement actions by referring to what they termed “stealth methods,” which involved agents in civilian attire, utilizing unmarked or intentionally low-profile vehicles, andconducting rapid removalswithout prior notification to the press or local organizations.

The source was quoted as stating: “We are present in every major city. We don’t inform anyone. In plain clothes. Using worn-out old cars. Fast operations. Tactical attacks. No one witnesses anything. No fuss. No crying. No media frenzy. You’re simply returning to where you belong.”

The representative stated that this method clarified why thevolume of deportationshas been given minimal attention by major media sources.

Blue regions are reported to be secretly collaborating

Johnson’s statement also contained an additional assertion that multiple states led by Democrats have been quietly working with federal immigration officials. According to a Department of Homeland Security official, Democratic governors, facing pressure from what the source referred to as the politically sensitive and economically burdensome task of accommodating criminal immigrants, have authorized sheriffs and police chiefs in large cities to hand over individuals to undercover ICE agents for deportation.

The assertions have not been confirmed by third parties, and the DHS official mentioned by Johnson remains unidentified. At the time Johnson shared his post, neither the White House nor the DHS had released any official comments regarding the numbers.
