It’s the situation numerous trekkers encounter while ascending Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales.
Rather than enjoying panoramic views of Eryri National Park and having room to commemorate reaching the peak, the mountain is being flooded by large groups of people.
Mount Snowdon welcomes 600,000 guests annually, yet this month is experiencing an especially high level of activity.

“Great to see so many people enjoying the outdoors!” he wrote – however, thousands of readers had a different opinion and were not pleased with the images.
Several people mentioned that the crowds discouraged them from visiting, and one wrote: “I used to climb Snowdon frequently. I definitely wouldn’t do it now. There are so many other wonderful hills and regions to discover in Wales.”
Another person commented: “My vision of hell. I head to the mountains to escape from others.”
While someone else likened it to Manchester’s busy shopping district and remarked, ‘It’s like wandering around the Trafford shopping centre.’
A hiker stated they “wouldn’t go now even if you paid me,” according to North Wales Live, while another person likened it to a “theme park experience.”

A video uploaded on TikTok by @Waywild was released on the same day as Trekking Tom Experiences.
The hiker wrote: “Waiting in line for the Snowdon summit felt just like a major traffic jam on Everest. I chose to skip it and preserve my mental well-being.”
Meanwhile, @carlysadventures shared video earlier this month depicting comparable images of crowded walkways and extended lines.
“POV: You only wanted to reach the top of Snowdon… but the line is longer than the hike itself,” they wrote.
Similarly, @love_jamel shared a video showing individuals taking pictures at the peak, with a lengthy queue of hikers following them.
A user remarked: “This is similar to how people stand in line at a bar.”
Others were upset, saying it’s “not Tesco” and “not a theme park!”
It’s not the first instance where hundreds of individuals have gathered at the summit of Snowdon.
