On the fourth day since a major flood occurred in the border area between Nepal and China, August 29, the total number of deaths confirmed in both countries has risen to 682 people. The number of missing persons is approaching 3,000 people.
According to AP and AFP, Nepal’s disaster authorities announced that 675 people had died as of 10 p.m. on the same day due to the massive flood that occurred on the 26th. With the number of victims in Gyirong County, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, where landslides occurred due to this flood, increasing to 7 people, the total death toll in both countries has reached 682 people.
The number of missing persons has been found to be approaching 3,000 people. The number of missing persons in Nepal has increased to 2,426 people, up by about 500 people from the previous 1,924 people. The total number of missing persons, combined with 554 people missing on the Chinese side, has reached 2,980 people.
Nine South Koreans, including six employees of Doosan Enerbility and three employees of Korea South-East Power, remain out of contact.
