As preparations continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the House of Representatives, Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Honorable Ikenna Iyiegbu has urged eligible residents across the constituency to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to avoid being disenfranchised during the elections.
Iyiegbu, who stated this while addressing a rally at Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state Saturday evening, described the voter card as an important tool in the electoral process.
The APGA House of Representatives candidate urged the people to collect their voter cards and be ready to participate in the electoral process, stressing that exercising their franchise during elections is the only way they could bring about the positive change they desired.
Iyiegbu’s words follow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC’s) announcement of October 9, 2026, as the commencement date for PVC collection in the state.
Iyiegbu told Anambra residents not to wait until the last minute before going to the various designated centers to collect their voter cards, adding that the PVC is an important instrument of civic participation and responsibility.
He also urged residents to remind their family members, friends and neighbours who were yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of the collection exercise. He told them not to sell their voter cards when they get them.
“Your PVC is your voice. Collect your card, protect your right to vote, and be ready to make your voice count. Don’t sell your PVCs when you get them”, Iyiegbu said.
