The Ibori Suenu Grassroots Network (ISGN) has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for commissioning the Oghareki Model Technical College in Oghareki-Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area, describing the project as a significant investment in education, youth empowerment and sustainable development.

In a statement jointly signed by its National Chairman, Chief Andrew Majemite, and Director of Media, Dr. Ofa Henry Ogheneochuko, JP, the network expressed gratitude to the governor for ensuring the completion of the institution, which it said would provide young people with opportunities to acquire technical knowledge and practical skills.

ISGN noted that the commissioning had generated excitement among the people of Oghara Kingdom and Ethiope West, who viewed the institution as an important contribution to the educational advancement of their children and the development of the area.

The network also acknowledged the presence of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori; Senator Ighoyota Amori; former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Halims Agoda; Senator Ede Dafinone; the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu; Ethiope West Council Chairman, Hon. Christian Onogba; traditional rulers and other prominent stakeholders at the commissioning ceremony.

ISGN particularly highlighted the remarks of Chief Ibori, who participated in the commissioning by cutting the tape. According to the network, the former governor expressed appreciation to Oborevwori for the respect and honour accorded him by involving him in the commissioning of the technical college located in his home local government area.

Chief Ibori also reportedly commended former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for initiating the project and praised Oborevwori for sustaining the development initiative and ensuring its completion rather than allowing it to be abandoned.

The statement further disclosed that the former governor declared his support for Oborevwori’s re-election bid in 2027, aligning himself with the position earlier expressed by Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu. He reportedly assured the governor of the continued support of his followers.

ISGN also commended the traditional institutions and people of the various kingdoms for maintaining the peaceful atmosphere that facilitated the successful completion of the project.

The network reserved special commendation for Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, its principal and representative of Ethiope Federal Constituency, for her address at the event and her commitment to peace, development and constructive collaboration with the state government.

Reaffirming its support for the governor’s development agenda, ISGN said it would continue to highlight development projects, promote accountability and work constructively with the All Progressives Congress (APC) towards peaceful and lawful democratic participation in the 2027 general elections.

The statement concluded with a message of appreciation to Oborevwori for fulfilling his commitment to Oghara Kingdom, expressing hope that the Oghareki Model Technical College would become a lasting centre of learning, technical skills and opportunity for future generations.

The network also prayed for continued wisdom, strength and good health for the governor as he steers the affairs of Delta State.
