• Australians are being advised against canceling business flights
  • Residents were informed it would be the quickest method to leave the area.

Australians stuck in the Middle East have been advised against canceling their commercial flights immediately when the airspace in the area reopens.

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Matt Thistlethwaite stated that it would not be feasible to evacuate them using military planes, and that the quickest method to depart the region would be by taking a commercial flight.

“Once the airspace starts to reopen, we will start informing Australians in various areas of the region about the best locations to access commercial flights,” he stated.

Approximately 115,000 Australians are currently in the Middle East, with some residing in the area and others experiencing difficulties while on the move.
