The National Observatory for Children’s Rights reported that it provided training to 1,290 professionals who work with children in 2025, such as doctors, social workers, teachers, and judges, as part of its efforts to enhance trauma care, implement digital monitoring systems, and build institutional collaborations to improve child protection in Morocco.

The observatory revealed the data on Monday at its annual gathering with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, which examined its 2025 performance and set forth its 2026 goals under the leadership of Princess Lalla Meryem.

In a statement, the organization mentioned that it has initiated free psychological support for children affected by violence who were referred to its hotline, along with an online initiative aimed at raising awareness about anxiety related to school.

It mentioned that the training initiative was a component of the country’s system for addressing psychological aspects of childhood trauma and also involved teachers and healthcare professionals.

The observatory mentioned that it has also developed digital health and data tools, including the first parent-focused version of a digital child health record, a continental platform for the African Network for Children’s Rights, an internal procedures platform, and a new system called TOFOLA to monitor child rights indicators and generate and publish data focused on children in alignment with Morocco’s national and international obligations.

It also mentioned actions aimed at enhancing children’s involvement, such as updated selection standards for child parliamentarians to expand representation beyond just academic achievements, with increased inclusion of children with disabilities and those from conventional and international education systems.

The gathering concluded with the execution of 10 collaboration agreements involving ministries, public organizations, UNICEF Morocco, and professional groups.
