Sir David Attenboroughis to reveal everything about the deceasedQueen Elizabeth II in a new BBCa documentary created to celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday.

The film, named Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century, is scheduled to broadcast at 9pm on BBC One on Sunday and will also include a segment fromQueen Camilla.

In a scene from the program, Sir David remarked about Elizabeth II: “The truth of being a queen was clear to her constantly. It wasn’t something she wore like a jacket or anything. It was part of her very essence. She was noble.”

Born only a few weeks apart from the Queen in 1926, Sir David had a strong bond with the late monarch that lasted for six decades.

The environmentalist, who received a knighthood from the Queen in 1985, was featured on The Queen’s Green Planet in 2018 and created her televised Christmas Day message for several years during the 1980s and 1990s.

He appeared in a segment of the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace in 2022, which honored the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In 2020, Sir David received the title of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George in recognition of his contributions to television broadcasting and conservation, as listed in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Following her passing, he expressed the sentiment of the nation by stating, ‘The entire country is in mourning.’

In other parts of the documentary, Baroness Glenconner shares her insights, as she was a childhood friend of both the late Queen and her sister, Margaret.

She was chosen as one of the attendants during Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953.

Thinking back to when she stepped onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace following the ceremony, Baroness Glenconner stated, “Everyone was extremely excited. I recall going out onto the balcony and the crowd was densely packed, cheering loudly.”

You could truly sense it on one. And each time she tried to leave, they wouldn’t allow her.

The film provides a reflection on the extensive life of the final monarch, who passed away at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022, and her impact.

Other participants include Dame Helen Mirren, Barack Obama, Dame Sheila Hancock, and Queen Camilla.

It is presented as a combination of archival footage, news interviews, and modern-day commentary.

The late Queen would have celebrated her 100th birthday on April 21.

Royal Mail will also celebrate the occasion by releasing a set of twelve commemorative stamps.

A primary collection of eight stamps will showcase images from moments in Queen Elizabeth II’s life, ranging from her initial radio address in 1940 at the age of 14 to her appearance on the balcony at Buckingham Palace during her 1953 coronation.

Her affection for horses and dogs has also remained evident—four additional stamps, part of a miniature sheet, depict her at different stages of her life with companions or thoroughbreds.

A package containing all 12 stamps is available for £22.50.

Catherine Catton, who leads factual entertainment and events, stated: ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century examines the life of her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from the perspective of a century of transformation and provides a significant insight into how contemporary Britain has been influenced.’
