Donald Trumpstated on Thursday that Iran has consented to transfer highly enriched uranium, referred to as ‘nuclear dust,’ which he asserts was buried after American air strikes targeted significant Iranian nuclear sites last year.
No confirmation has been received from Iran regarding whether it offered this compromise during discussions with American officials last week.
Trump has referred to the term ‘nuclear dust’ to characterize highly enriched uranium, which the International Atomic Energy Agency has indicated is still buried deep beneath the surface following U.S. attacks in June on three significant nuclear facilities.
The substance has been a key source of conflict between Washington and Tehran, as US officials fear it might be utilized to aid the creation of a nuclear weapon.
Before the current two-week ceasefire, which is set to end on Tuesday, Trump had instructed the U.S. military to develop a plan for a high-risk mission to enter Iran and recover the radioactive material without the approval of Tehran.
On Thursday, Trump told reporters: ‘Iran doesn’t possess a nuclear weapon, and they have agreed to that. Iran has agreed to it, and they’ve done so very strongly.’
They have agreed to return the nuclear dust buried deep underground due to the attack carried out by the B-2 bombers.
So we share many common points with Iran, and I believe something significant is about to occur, which will be very positive and crucial.

His remarks follow US discussions with Iranian representatives in Islamabad over the weekend that concluded without reaching an agreement.
Iran has consistently stated that it does not aim to create a nuclear weapon, suggesting that any new commitment to this stance might have little significance.
A pledge to give up their current supplies of enriched uranium would be a more significant move, although its effect would be limited if Iran continues to have the ability to create additional material.
American officials think that the airstrikes carried out last June damaged or destroyed numerous Iran’s centrifuges utilized for enriching uranium, although it is thought that the nation still has some remaining.
Iran is looking to reach an agreement, and we are handling matters very well with them,” Trump stated. “They are now open to actions they weren’t willing to take two months ago.
In the most recent round of discussions, Vice President JD Vance introduced a plan aimed at preventing Iran from enriching uranium for two decades, a concept that Trump subsequently expressed his disagreement with.
US authorities have recently stated that Washington and Tehran are discussing a three-page agreement aimed at concluding the conflict, which could result inIranhand over its enriched uranium in return for $20 billion in released funds, according to Axios.
Trump stated on Thursday that U.S. and Iranian representatives are expected to convene over the weekend for a second round of discussions prior to the truce expiring.
Preventing Iran from obtaining access to their hidden nuclear supplies, particularly the 450kg of uranium enriched to 60 percent, is a key goal for the Trump administration.
“Iran clearly desires the $20 billion—and even more. They clearly wish to sell oil at market prices without restrictions. They aim to be part of the global financial system. However, they also want to maintain this nuclear weapons program,” an official stated.
The official stated: “They aim to support terrorists such as Hamas. And they are unwilling to relinquish this enough to accept the offers we are presenting.”
Iran has shifted. Yet not sufficiently. We shall observe what is required to push them forward.

Meanwhile, Iran has stated that the Strait of Hormuz is now ‘fully accessible’ for the remainder of the truce.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X on Friday: ‘In accordance with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz is fully open for the remainder of the ceasefire period, along the coordinated route previously announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.’
Speaking to Truth Social following the announcement, Donald Trump stated: ‘Iran has just declared that the Strait of Iran is completely open and prepared for full navigation. Thank you!’
In his festive message, the US President mentioned the waterway as the ‘Strait of Iran’ instead of its official title, the Strait of Hormuz.
Nevertheless, Trump stated that the US embargo will continue ‘at full strength’ even with the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
“The Strait of Hormuz is fully open and operational for trade and complete passage, but the naval embargo will continue to be in full effect specifically regarding Iran until our transaction with Iran is entirely finalized. This procedure should proceed very swiftly since most of the terms have already been discussed.” he posted on Truth Social.
Trump stated on Thursday that the conflict with Iran is “going very well” as a truce between Israel and Lebanon took effect last night.
Addressing an audience at a gathering in Las Vegas, the U.S. Presidentmentioned that a deal with Iran is ‘very close,’ after hedeclared a truce agreement between Israel and Lebanon following discussions with representatives from both nations.
He referred to it as a ‘historic’ day for Lebanon, and in a post on Truth Social, he said: ‘Good things are happening!!!’
It is hoped that the ceasefire could lead to a lasting peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon, countries that do not maintain formal diplomatic ties.
In a message posted on Truth Social during the night, the US leader cautioned the Iranian-aligned militant organization Hezbollah to ‘be well-behaved’ throughout the truce.
“I hope Hezbollah behaves appropriately and responsibly during this critical time. It would be a significant opportunity for them if they do so. No more violence. We must finally achieve peace,” he wrote.
