A number of Indiana Republicans who resisted Trump’s redistricting efforts might face defeat in their primaries on Tuesday night, as the president’s retaliation campaign secures its initial victories — though one candidate is expected to remain.

State Senator Greg Goode, a conservative Republican and one of the most vocal legislators opposing the proposal to eliminate two Democratic seats, has been re-nominated for District 38, having beaten his challenger backed by Trump, Vigo County Commissioner Brenda Wilson, according toThe New York Times and NBC News.

Goode was among a small number of Republican representatives in Indiana whoencountered a swatting incident at his residenceafter Trump mentioned him by name.

The president attacked himas “No Goode” and referred to him as an “America Last” politician in a tirade on Truth Social while supporting his rival.

Goode might have gained an advantage in his re-election campaign, at least partially due to the inclusion of a third candidate, Alexandra Wilson, whose surname matched that of Trump’s supported candidate, possibly causing the vote to be divided.
