Trump states that Project Freedom has been put on hold to assess if an agreement with Iran can be achieved.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that “Project Freedom” will be put on hold as the United States works to complete an agreement with Iran.

“Operation Freedom” refers to the American initiative aimed at guiding vessels that are stuck through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Operation Freedom (The Movement of Vessels via the Strait of Hormuz) will be temporarily halted to assess if the Agreement can be completed and signed,” Trump stated in a message on his Truth Social account.

At the same time, Trump stated that the U.S. naval embargo against Iranian ports will continue to be in place.

USA: Fuel costs have increased by 50% since the beginning of the conflict in Iran

The cost of gasoline in the United States has risen by 50% since the U.S. and Israel engaged in conflict with Iran in February, as reported by the American Automobile Association (AAA), which noted that the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline reached $4.48 (€3.83) on Tuesday.

The cost of crude oil, the primary component of gasoline, has been increasing as the Strait of Hormuz, where a fifth of global crude oil typically travels, has effectively closed, causing oil tankers to be stuck.

“Following the declaration of the first ceasefire, there was hope that this might mark the start of the end of the fighting,” said Rob Smith, director of global fuel retail at S&P Global Energy, to the Associated Press.

But regardless of what a government claims or what any market expert believes, there is constant upward pressure on prices as long as the Strait of Hormuz remains restricted. And it is still highly restricted.

Iran ‘firmly’ rejects recent strikes against the UAE

The Iranian armed forces stated on Tuesday that they “firmly rejected” any involvement in attacks against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the week, labeling the allegations as “entirely baseless.”

The UAE mentioned earlier on Tuesday that its air defense systems were intercepting missiles and drones originating “from Iran” for the second day in a row, during the ongoing, delicate ceasefire.

The Iranian military’s central command stated in a statement that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not carried out any missile or drone attack against the United Arab Emirates in recent days.

If that action had occurred, we would have made it known decisively and unambiguously,” it stated, cautioning that any strikes initiated from Emirati soil against Iran would result in a “strong reaction.

Iran has focused its attacks on the UAE more than any other nation throughout the conflict, striking not only American facilities within the country but also energy and civilian infrastructure.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Iranian military cautioned the UAE, stating regarding the United States and Israel: “Your nation, as an Islamic territory, should not serve as a refuge for Americans and the Zionists, along with their troops and military hardware.”

Rubio: Military actions against Iran “finished”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Tuesday that military actions against Iran have ceased.

“The operation has concluded – Epic Fury – as the president informed Congress, we have finished that phase,” he said to reporters at the White House, stating that the United States is now only engaging in defensive measures while enforcing its blockade of Iranian ports.

We will only respond if we are attacked first. This is a defensive mission,” he stated. “If no shots are fired at these vessels and no shots are directed at us, we will not fire. However, if we are attacked, we will retaliate.

Rubio also verified that ten civilian seafarers have lost their lives in the current conflict unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz.

They are isolated, they are suffering from hunger, and they are in a weak position, with at least 10 civilian sailors having lost their lives, he stated, offering no further information.
