The All Progressives Congress Delta State National Assembly Primaries Appeal Committee has urged dissatisfied candidates and party members to officially file grievances related to the House of Representatives primary elections held throughout the state on Saturday.
The committee stated that the action was aimed at enhancing the party’s internal democratic procedures and ensuring fairness, openness, and reliability after the direct primaries selected candidates for the 10 federal constituencies in Delta State.
A statement released on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, mentioned that Festus Ahon, the committee’s chairman, along with Mr. Chukwuemeka Ujam, stated, “the party leadership is dedicated to a transparent and reliable process without any external influence.”
Ujam stated that “all petitions, appeals, and complaints concerning the conduct of the primaries would be given proper consideration in line with the party’s constitution, rules, and democratic values.”
He stated that the appeal process “offers a chance for unhappy candidates and interested parties to obtain resolution via official party channels, while also aiding in maintaining cohesion within the APC before the 2027 national elections.”
The committee encouraged party supporters to express their concerns through peaceful and legal methods, promising that all complaints would be handled with fairness and impartiality.
