On the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 24th, a fire broke out in an attic room in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, killing one person in his 60s.
The Seoul Gangseo Fire Station received a report at around 3:19 a.m. that day that flames were visible on the rooftop of a multi-family housing complex in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
Upon receiving the report, the fire authorities deployed 17 units of equipment and 58 people, completely extinguishing the fire around 3:42 a.m., approximately 23 minutes later.
The fire resulted in the discovery of one person in his 60s, who had been living in the attic room, deceased.
The fire department is investigating the exact point of ignition and the cause of the fire, based on the fact that when they arrived at the scene, the fire had filled the interior of the building and flames were erupting from the windows.
