Using its right of reply on Friday, September 25, a Turkish diplomat called Netanyahu’s accusations against Turkey and Erdogan “baseless and malicious”, while pointing to the walkout of numerous delegations as a sign of diplomatic opposition to the Israeli prime minister. Turkey also reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict .
Netanyahu had accused Turkey of spreading what he called antisemitic claims, hosting Hamas leaders and other actions, while describing Erdogan as a “tyrant”. Dozens of delegates left the General Assembly hall as Netanyahu began speaking on Thursday, amid growing international criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza .
