Nevertheless, the American squad took an early lead on Saturday as Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Young defeated Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick with a score of 4 and 2.
Europe made a comeback, and Tommy Fleetwood along withRory McIlroycontinued their impressive performance with a 3&2 win against Collin Morikawa and Harris English.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton secured an additional point after defeating Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay with a score of 3&2.
The last match was the most intense, but Viktor Hovland and Robert MacIntyre remained calm to narrowly winScottie Schefflerand Russell Henley on the last hole and put Europe leading 8.5 to 3.5.
