Daegu Health College reported on the 2nd that it has entered into a business agreement with Kyungpook National University to create an “industry-academia-research collaborative doctoral program” designed to develop specialists in the healthcare sector. This is the first instance of a professional college collaborating with a national university to introduce a doctoral program, as stated by Daegu Health College.
Under this agreement, the two institutions will establish the “Daegu Health College-linked Bio-Health Convergence Doctoral Program” as part of the Graduate School of Medicine’s industry-academia-research collaborative initiative at Kyungpook National University. The program will start accepting its initial students in December of this year and will begin operations in March of the following year. Daegu Health College will be responsible for designing the curriculum and managing student admissions, while Kyungpook National University will manage the teaching and thesis guidance.
Kwon Soon-moo, the head of the Graduate School of Health Professional Technology at Daegu Health College, said, “The creation of this joint doctoral program marks an essential move in developing skilled professionals that the fast-changing healthcare sector requires. We aim to develop interdisciplinary abilities that are vital for the region and industries.”
