The initial Supermoon of 2025 will be visible on October 7, providing astronomers with an impressive astronomical event.
During the event, the full moon will seem approximately 14 percent bigger and almost 30 percent brighter than normal, as it moves to its closest position to Earth in its oval orbit. On this day, the moon will be only 224,599 miles from Earth, the closest it has been since November 2024.
The uncommon spectacle can be observed not just in Pakistan but worldwide, becoming a key event for those passionate about astronomy.
This year, three Supermoons will take place on October 7, November 5, and December 5. Of these, the Supermoon in November will be the most luminous, as the moon will come within 221,817 miles of Earth.
Astronomers observe that usually, between 3 and 4 Supermoons are seen annually, but the one in October will be distinctive because of its proximity and impressive appearance.
