Breathtaking new visuals of the interstellar guesthave shown that it has inexplicably reduced in size weeks before its nearest encounter with Earth.

NASA recently determined the change, mentioning that it lost 13 percent of its substance following the passage of 3I/ATLAS near the sun last month.

Harvard Professor Avi Loeb, who has been studying the object since the summer, pointed out that this rapid reduction was closely linked to the visible shift in the interstellar object’s path as it approached the sun.

“In a typical comet, this should have led to a large coma consisting of dust and gas, which would have been influenced by solar radiation pressure and the solar wind to form a conventional cometary tail directed away from the sun,” he mentioned in a blog post.

No visible tail is present in the latest images dated November 5, 2025. 

3I/ATLAS will come nearest to Earth on December 19, only six weeks from now.

Loeb has previously cautioned that interaction with 3I/ATLAS carries themaking of a ‘black swan event,’This enormous celestial body might be an alien mothership attempting to conceal itself as a space rock for an undisclosed reason.

However, NASAand hundreds of researchers believe that 3I/ATLAS is merely a comet originating from beyond our Solar System.

Without a tail appearing around 3I/ATLAS, Loeb argues that the chances of this unusual object being an artificial spacecraft from another planet aregrowing every single day.

The loss of material occurred as a ground-based telescope in Chile detected an unusual rise in velocity.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) of NASA stated that the unusual movement of 3I/ATLAS could not be attributed to the sun’s powerful gravitational force acting on the supposed comet.

Alternatively, 3I/ATLAS distinctly moved away from the sun and also tilted sideways, which Loeb proposed indicated a rocket engine altering the vehicle’s trajectory.

For a typical comet to perform this surprising maneuver on its own, 3I/ATLAS would have needed to shed over 13 percent of its mass, resulting in large jets of gas erupting from the celestial body.

These streams of gas would have produced a similar impact to a rocket engine, propelling the comet away from the sun even though the large star’s gravitational force affected all objects in the solar system.

Nevertheless, this type of gas emission creates a path of clues, visible indicators that the comet melted and expelled approximately five billion tons of gas and dust into the cosmos.

NASA’s latest images, released on November 5, show no indication that 3I/ATLAS has performed any of these actions, even though it has decreased in size by approximately 13 percent and moved away from the sun.

Additionally, Loeb stated that the unknown object has remained largely the same as a picture captured by the Hubble Space Telescope in July.

The scientist and leader of the Galileo Project, a research organizationsearching for evidence of alien life, has claimed that 3I/ATLAS has displayed at least 10 indicators suggesting it is a man-made craft on a trajectory toward Earth.

Nevertheless, evidence keeps accumulating indicating that this object from beyond the solar system is not a natural occurrence.

This involves showing an unusual “anti-tail” that faced the sun as it reached its nearest point to the star last month.

A typical comet’s tail extends away from the sun when ice and rock separate from it, leaving a trail behind as the comet travels through space.

3I/ATLAS has also frequently altered its color while traveling through the solar system, such as turning blue when it approached the sun, a phenomenon not seen in a regular comet.

Regular comets appear red because their cold surfaces absorb blue light and reflect mostly red light, similar to how a cold metal object turns red when heated.

Although one unusual feature observed in a comet might be explained by science, Loeb pointed out that the chances of 3I/ATLAS exhibiting 10 strange anomalies simultaneously are incredibly low, suggesting the object may have been engineered by an advanced civilization.
