The update comes after previous setups in Hāwera and Waitara.

A recently introduced digital X-ray system is now operational at the Stratford Health Centre in Taranaki,New Zealand, Health Minister Simeon Brown stated.

The upgrade marks the completion of the deployment of digital X-ray equipment in Taranaki’s satellite health centers, after previous setups in Hāwera and Waitara.

Furthermore, radiology services are expected to grow even more with the launch of the New East Building’s radiology department at Taranaki Base Hospital in 2026.

The department will include a second CT scanner, a fluoroscopy system, a new MRI, SPECT CT, cone beam CT, ultrasound equipment, and improved X-ray facilities.
