Gisagara VC defeated their former team Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) with scores of 25-14, 25-20, and 25-22 in their sixth league match held at the Petit Stade Gymnasium on Saturday, November 15. The club based in the Southern Province faced KVC, the team that nurtured both Sylvestre Ndayisaba and Samuel Niyogisubizo, also known as Tyson, between 2013 and 2015. Gisagara won the first set 25-14. Although the second and third sets were closely contested after KVC coach Jean Marie Nsengiyumva made adjustments to his team, Gisagara maintained control, relying on their experience to win the match in three straight sets. After the victory, Ndayisaba and Niyogisubizo presented two balls to KVC as a token of gratitude to their former club. “KVC raised us, so the only thing we can do for our parents is to motivate others,” Ndayisaba said to Times Sport. Gisagara felt relieved after bouncing back from their loss to APR VC in three straight sets on Friday, November 14. “Losing is part of the game, and we have to accept it. But in that match, we lost focus, which became a lesson we learned and fixed moving forward,” he added. In an earlier match, Kepler VC came from behind to defeat East African University Rwanda (EAUR) in four sets (22-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15), while APR VC narrowly beat the Eastern-based team Kirehe (25–14, 25–18, 25–16). In the women’s category, APR WVC swept Ruhango WVC (25-10, 25-13, 25-14), while EAUR fell to Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) in four sets (18-25, 21-25, 25-21, 19-25).
