The live transmission of the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games will feature 31 different sports, starting with the men’s football game between host nation Thailand and Timor-Leste on December 3.
Local television stations — NBT and T-Sports 7 — will serve as the primary broadcasters, while TrueVisions NOW has obtained the exclusive rights to stream the SEA Games and the Asean Para Games on its OTT (Over-the-Top) platform, according to Col Chuchart Pimprasert, a consultant for international sports broadcasts in Thailand, during a meeting yesterday.
TrueVisions NOW will also air the beginning of the SEA Games’ torch relay ceremony, which is scheduled for this Sunday, he mentioned.
Colonel Chuchart also verified that all men’s football games will be broadcast live throughout the competition.
The 31 sports events include athletics, aquatics (swimming and diving), badminton, basketball, football (both men’s and women’s), futsal (men’s and women’s), gymnastics, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball, weightlifting, indoor hockey, cycling (track), extreme sports (skateboarding), fencing, boxing, jujitsu, muay, pencak silat, taekwondo, wrestling, sepak takraw, sailing, floorball, karate, kickboxing, billiards and snooker, teqball, esports, and rugby.
The 33rd Southeast Asian Games are scheduled to be held from December 9 to 20 in Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Songkhla.
